The technology is
now available in Nebraska to collect, freeze and store canine semen.
This will give you, as the dog owner, the ability to preserve the
genetics of your champion, your best friend or hunting buddy for years
to come.
As of November
2005, Heartland Animal Center joined the International Canine Semen Bank
- ICSB - network. The ICSB procedures are based on more than 30
years of research and success. ICSB has produced more than 5000
puppies and has produced a litter from semen stored over 29 years.
The process used by ICSB is recognized and approved by the American
Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC), American Field, and
National Greyhound Association.
ICSB procedures
use a pelleted from of frozen semen instead of the straw form and is
stored in units we call vials. Each vial is one insemination.
