Senior Care

Dogs and cats are generally considered senior citizens at age 9. Since dogs and cats age more rapidly than people, dramatic changes in health can occur in as little time as 3-6 months. It is important for your senior pet to visit us once or twice a year. Catching small problems before they become more serious medical conditions is critical to your pet’s quality of life. Proper nutrition and regular exercise can also help ensure your senior pet’s wellness.

Surgery

We offer wonderful surgical care with close monitoring using advanced equipment.

Before any surgical procedure, pre-anesthetic blood analysis can be performed.  The results from our onsite laboratory help us identify any conditions that are undetectable by physical exam.  Although there are always risks associated with anesthesia, this thorough evaluation of your pet’s health will help reduce the risks.

During surgery your pet will be continually monitored with the same techniques used in human medicine.  IV fluids are given during surgery to support blood pressure and help the body cope with the stress of anesthesia and surgery.  Your pet will also receive pain medication and monitoring for immediate detection of any complications.
